Jacqueline Fernandez

Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress and model based in India, best known for her work in Hindi cinema. She was born on August 11, 1985, in Manama, Bahrain, and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. After studying mass communication at the University of Sydney, she worked in television in Sri Lanka and entered modelling. In 2006 she won Miss Universe Sri Lanka and represented Sri Lanka at Miss Universe 2006, a pageant platform that helped lead to modelling and entertainment opportunities.

Fernandez moved into Indian films after a modelling assignment brought her to India. She made her acting debut in Sujoy Ghosh's fantasy film Aladin in 2009, winning the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female. After early appearances in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai and the song sequence “Dhanno” in Housefull, her first major commercial breakthrough came with the psychological thriller Murder 2 in 2011. She then appeared in several ensemble and action productions, including Housefull 2 and Race 2, which increased her visibility in mainstream Hindi cinema.

Her best-known Hindi film roles include Kick, Roy, Housefull 3, A Flying Jatt, Dishoom, Judwaa 2, Bachchhan Paandey, Ram Setu, Cirkus, and Housefull 5. She has also worked in streaming and international-facing projects such as Mrs. Serial Killer, Drive, and Kill 'em All 2, and in the Kannada action-adventure film Vikrant Rona. These credits established her as a regular presence in commercial Indian cinema, particularly in action, comedy, thriller, dance-oriented, and ensemble productions.
