Tim Allen

Tim Allen is an American actor and comedian best known for television sitcoms, family films, and voice acting. Born Timothy Alan Dick on June 13, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, he began his entertainment career in stand-up comedy before becoming a major television star in the 1990s.

Allen's breakthrough came with the ABC sitcom Home Improvement, in which he played Tim Taylor, a television handyman and family man. The series became one of the most popular American sitcoms of the decade and made Allen a widely recognized comic actor. During the same period, he moved into leading film roles, starring as Scott Calvin in The Santa Clause and its sequels, a franchise that became a long-running part of Disney's holiday programming.

He is also widely known as the voice of Buzz Lightyear in Pixar's Toy Story films, beginning with the original 1995 feature. The role became one of his most recognizable performances and connected his career to one of the most successful animated film franchises. His other film credits include Jungle 2 Jungle, For Richer or Poorer, Galaxy Quest, Big Trouble, Christmas with the Kranks, The Shaggy Dog, Wild Hogs, and Crazy on the Outside.

Allen returned to network sitcom success with Last Man Standing, in which he played Mike Baxter, a sporting-goods executive and father in a politically divided household. He has also appeared in television specials, documentary and reality programming, and the Disney series The Santa Clauses.
