Xie Miao

Xie Miao (born 2 May 1984), also credited as Mo Tse, Miu Tse, Tse Miu, Tze Miu, and Miao Xie, is a Chinese actor and martial artist known for action cinema. He began performing as a child actor in the 1990s and became widely associated with Hong Kong martial-arts films after appearing alongside Jet Li in The New Legend of Shaolin and My Father Is a Hero.

Xie was born in Beijing and trained in wushu, winning tournament titles before and during his early screen career. His martial-arts background made him a natural fit for action films during a period when Hong Kong cinema frequently cast young performers with strong acrobatic or fight-training credentials. He entered films as a child and appeared in A Warrior's Tragedy before gaining attention in The New Legend of Shaolin, released in 1994, in which he played the young Hung Man-ting opposite Jet Li.

In 1994, Xie also appeared in God of Gamblers Returns. The following year he again worked in a Jet Li-led action film, My Father Is a Hero, also known in some releases as The Enforcer. In that film he played the son of Li's undercover-police character, and the pairing helped define Xie's early public image as a child martial-arts performer. These roles placed him within the broader tradition of Hong Kong action cinema built around family melodrama, stunt choreography, and child-prodigy performers.

After his early period of fame, Xie reduced his screen work and later studied at the Capital University of Physical Education and Sports in Beijing. He resumed acting as an adult, appearing in television and film projects including Legend of Shaolin Temple, The Champions, The Kung Fu Master, Empire of Assassins, The Thousand Faces of Dunjia, Ip Man: The Awakening, Eye for an Eye, and Eye for an Eye 2. His later credits often continued to emphasize martial arts, wuxia, historical action, and direct-to-streaming Chinese action cinema.
