Siân Richards

Siân Richards is a makeup designer with more than three decades of experience across film, television, fashion and beauty. Beginning her career in London, she developed her skills through commercial and editorial work before leading a British film makeup department at 28.

Her work combines subtle, camera-ready makeup with detailed character transformations, supporting performance, continuity and storytelling. She has collaborated with actors, musicians and other public figures on productions, campaigns, editorials and red-carpet appearances.

Richards maintained a longstanding creative partnership with Chadwick Boseman, working on Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Da 5 Bloods, 21 Bridges and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Her credits also include Bessie and Cloud Atlas, earning her an Emmy nomination and a Critics’ Choice Award.

Her collaboration with LaKeith Stanfield began on Judas and the Black Messiah and continued through The Book of Clarence, Lear Rex and Die My Love. She also served as makeup designer and department head on Ryan Coogler’s Sinners.

Based in Los Angeles and holding British, American and Maltese citizenship, Richards brings an international perspective to her professional makeup practice. Across every project, she prioritizes collaboration, craftsmanship and respect for the performer, creating makeup that strengthens character and serves the story.
