Marion Cotillard is a French actress whose career bridges French cinema, European art films, and major English-language productions. Born in Paris on 30 September 1975 into a family connected to the performing arts, she began acting young and built her early career in French television, theatre, and film. Her first major popular breakthrough came with the Taxi films, where she played Lilly Bertineau, but she quickly moved beyond commercial supporting roles into more demanding dramatic work.

Cotillard’s international reputation grew through films such as Pretty Things, Love Me If You Dare, Big Fish, and A Very Long Engagement.
