Frank Marshall

Marshall has also directed feature films and documentaries. His narrative directing credits include Arachnophobia, Alive, Congo and Eight Below. Those films reflect an interest in survival stories, adventure mechanics and ensemble tension, even when he is better known as a producer than as an auteur director. In documentary work he directed or produced projects including The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story and The Beach Boys, extending his filmography into music history and nonfiction storytelling.

Industry recognition has followed the breadth and consistency of Marshall's output. He has received multiple Academy Award nominations for Best Picture as a producer, including for Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Color Purple, The Sixth Sense, Seabiscuit and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
