Jennifer Connelly

Jennifer Lynn Connelly (born December 12, 1970) is an American actress whose career began in childhood modeling and developed into acclaimed work in drama, fantasy, science fiction, and prestige film. Born in Cairo, New York, and raised partly in Brooklyn Heights, she appeared in print and television advertising as a child before moving into film. Her screen debut came in Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in America, and she soon became known to genre audiences through Dario Argento's Phenomena and Jim Henson's fantasy film Labyrinth. These early projects established her as a distinctive young screen presence in visually stylized films.

Connelly's early career mixed youth-oriented roles, fantasy, thrillers, and period pieces. In the late 1980s and early 1990s she appeared in films including Some Girls, The Hot Spot, Career Opportunities, and The Rocketeer. Her performance in Labyrinth later became one of her most widely remembered early roles as the film developed a long afterlife with fantasy audiences.
