Kaito Ishikawa is a Japanese voice actor associated with the generation of performers who became internationally familiar through anime streaming, video games, and franchise dubbing in the 2010s and 2020s. Born in Tokyo in 1993, he entered professional voice acting as a young performer and built a career around energetic protagonists, emotionally guarded young men, and technically demanding action roles. His Japanese name is written 石川 界人, and he has been represented by Stay Luck.
Ishikawa's rise is closely tied to television anime. He attracted early attention as Ledo in Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, a role that required him to carry a science-fiction coming-of-age story through both action and cultural dislocation. Soon afterward, he became widely known as Tobio Kageyama in Haikyu!!, the volleyball setter whose precision, arrogance, and gradual emotional growth made him one of the defining characters of the series. Haikyu!! gave Ishikawa a long-running role across television seasons, films, and later theatrical projects, helping his voice become familiar to anime audiences outside Japan.
Another major pillar of Ishikawa's career is Genos in One-Punch Man. As the intensely serious cyborg disciple to Saitama, Ishikawa balances deadpan comedy with dramatic sincerity, a combination that became central to the show's tone. He has also voiced Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia, Naofumi Iwatani in The Rising of the Shield Hero, Sakuta Azusagawa in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and its films, Kuki Urie in Tokyo Ghoul:re, Kiawe in Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, and numerous other parts in fantasy, sports, school, and action series. His roles often place him at the intersection of discipline and vulnerability: characters who look controlled on the surface but are driven by fierce loyalty, insecurity, or moral pressure.

Ishikawa's film and game work extended that profile. He has appeared in Haikyu!! films, Rascal Does Not Dream films, Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary, Genocidal Organ, Azure Striker Gunvolt, and other projects connected to anime and game fandom. In games, his credits include prominent franchise work, and he is also known in listings for roles connected with Ensemble Stars!!, Devil May Cry, and other media-mix properties. Because modern Japanese voice acting often spans animation, games, character songs, stage events, radio, and promotional appearances, Ishikawa's career is not limited to a single medium; it reflects the broader structure of the seiyuu industry.
In 2025, Ishikawa and voice actress Maaya Uchida publicly announced their marriage, drawing notice because both were prominent performers with major anime and game credits. That event also connected him publicly to another well-known voice acting family, as Uchida's brother Yuma Uchida is also a voice actor and singer. While personal details should be treated carefully, the marriage was widely reported through entertainment and anime-news outlets and became part of his public biographical record.
Ishikawa's importance lies in the breadth of recognizable characters he has voiced during a period when Japanese animation became even more global. For many viewers, his voice is attached to competitive sports intensity through Haikyu!!, superhero parody and pathos through One-Punch Man, romantic melancholy through Rascal Does Not Dream, and fantasy grievance through The Rising of the Shield Hero. That range has made him one of the frequently cast male voice actors of his cohort, with a career shaped by both domestic Japanese production and international anime fandom.
