Acting
Robert Hammond Patrick is an American actor whose screen career has been defined by intense physicality, clipped authority, and a gift for making genre roles feel grounded. Born on November 5, 1958, in Marietta, Georgia, he worked steadily through the 1980s before breaking through internationally as the liquid-metal T-1000 in James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The performance turned a largely silent antagonist into one of modern action cinema's most recognizable villains and established Patrick as a durable presence in thrillers, science fiction, crime dramas, and western-tinged character pieces.
Patrick's film work after Terminator 2 showed a willingness to move between major studio productions and leaner independent films. He appeared in Fire in the Sky, Striptease, Cop Land, The Faculty, Spy Kids, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Walk the Line, Flags of Our Fathers, Bridge to Terabithia, Gangster Squad, Identity Thief, The Laundromat, The Protégé, Honest Thief, and many other titles. He often plays soldiers, police officers, federal agents, fathers, criminals, and hard-edged authority figures, but his best-known parts frequently add a damaged or human note beneath the intimidation.
Television has been equally central to Patrick's career. He joined The X-Files as FBI Special Agent John Doggett for the final seasons of the original run, taking on the difficult task of entering a series strongly identified with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. He later had major roles as Colonel Tom Ryan on The Unit and Cabe Gallo on Scorpion, and appeared in The Sopranos, True Blood, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, 1923, Reacher, Tulsa King, and Peacemaker, where he played Auggie Smith, the extremist father of John Cena's title character.

Patrick's long filmography reflects both prolific work habits and a recognizable screen persona: controlled voice, athletic bearing, and a capacity to suggest menace without excess. Although the T-1000 remains his signature role, his decades of credits show an actor who has continually adapted to film, network television, streaming series, and direct-to-video action markets while remaining a reliable supporting and lead performer.
