Lochlyn Munro is a Canadian actor whose long screen career has moved across comedy, horror, action, television drama, Hallmark-style mysteries, and direct-to-video genre filmmaking. Born in Lac la Hache, British Columbia, on February 12, 1966, he originally pursued sports before injury redirected him toward music and acting. He began working professionally in the late 1980s and built a résumé defined less by a single star-making role than by steady visibility in a wide range of film and television projects.
Munro became familiar to many viewers through late-1990s and early-2000s comedies and genre films. He appeared in A Night at the Roxbury, played Greg Phillippe in Scary Movie, appeared in Dracula 2000, and had a memorable role in White Chicks. He also appeared in Freddy vs. Jason, which placed him inside a major horror crossover, and in The Benchwarmers, Little Man, and other broad comedies. These roles often used his square-jawed presence and willingness to play arrogance, authority, or absurd self-confidence for comic effect.
Television has been central to his career. Munro appeared in series including 21 Jump Street, Charmed, CSI, Without a Trace, Smallville, Supernatural, Lucifer, The Good Doctor, and Riverdale. On Riverdale he played Hal Cooper, a role that became increasingly important as the series turned toward mystery and melodrama. His television work shows the value of a durable character actor: he can enter a procedural, teen drama, fantasy show, or thriller and quickly establish a recognizable type while adapting to the tone of the series.

In the 2010s and 2020s Munro continued working heavily in independent and genre projects. His credits include Rampage: Capital Punishment, Death Valley, Spiral, Cosmic Sin, Apex, the Detective Knight films, Margaux, Curious Caterer mysteries, and numerous Canadian and American television movies. Many of these productions are modestly budgeted, but they depend on actors who can work efficiently and bring credibility to law-enforcement figures, villains, fathers, doctors, executives, and small-town authority roles.
Munro's career illustrates a different kind of screen success from awards-driven stardom. He has remained employable for decades by being flexible, recognizable, and comfortable in both theatrical film and television production. For audiences, he may be remembered from a comedy, a horror film, a teen series, or a cable mystery depending on when they encountered his work. That breadth, rather than one signature performance, is the defining feature of his biography.
