Michael Sheen

Sheen later broadened his screen work into fantasy, comedy and contemporary television. He appeared in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, The Twilight Saga films, Tron: Legacy and Midnight in Paris, often bringing theatrical flamboyance to supporting roles. On television, he starred as William Masters in Showtime's Masters of Sex, a role that brought a Golden Globe nomination and demonstrated his ability to carry a long-form American drama. He later played Martin Whitly in Prodigal Son and appeared as Chris Tarrant in Quiz.

One of Sheen's most widely seen later roles is the angel Aziraphale in Good Omens, opposite David Tennant as Crowley. The series gave him an international fantasy-comedy audience and highlighted his gift for warmth, timing and carefully modulated eccentricity. During the COVID-19 lockdown period, Sheen and Tennant also starred as fictionalized versions of themselves in Staged, a remote-production comedy that drew on their real professional partnership.
