Rikiya Koyama

Rikiya Koyama is a Japanese actor, voice actor, and narrator affiliated with the Haiyuza Theatre Company. He was born on December 18, 1963, in Kyoto, Japan. After attending Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High School, he studied law at Ritsumeikan University, where he became involved with the Ritsumeikan Art Theatre Company. He later moved to Tokyo to study drama and joined Haiyuza, building a career that combined stage work, live-action television, dubbing, anime, games, and narration.

Koyama's early screen work included an acting role in Kamen Rider Black RX, where he performed many of his own action scenes. He later became prominent as a voice actor, first gaining experience in dubbing before moving widely into anime and video games. His voice roles include Mamoru Takamura in Hajime no Ippo, Yamato in Naruto Shippuden, Ging Freecss in Hunter x Hunter, Kogoro Mouri in Case Closed, Coyote Starrk in Bleach, Deep Sea King in One Punch Man, and characters in series such as Fate/Zero, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. He is also well known in Japanese dubbing as a regular voice for international actors including George Clooney, Kiefer Sutherland, Dwayne Johnson, and Ma Dong-seok.

In addition to anime and dubbing, Koyama has remained active in theatre. His stage work has included overseas performances, and his performance as Antonio in The Merchant of Venice earned an Outstanding Performance Award at the Yomiuri Theater Awards. In 2011, he received the Kei Tomiyama Memorial Award at the Seiyu Awards, recognizing his contributions as a voice performer. His career is notable for combining classical stage training with a broad range of popular-media voice roles, especially authoritative, comic, and dramatic characters.
