Vincent D'Onofrio

Television gave D'Onofrio one of his best-known roles: Detective Robert Goren in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Beginning in 2001, he played Goren as a brilliant, eccentric investigator whose powers of observation were matched by a complicated emotional life. The series made D'Onofrio familiar to a broad television audience and gave him a long-running lead role after years of film character work. He also earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Homicide: Life on the Street and later appeared in series including Emerald City, Godfather of Harlem, and Ratched.

In the Marvel screen universe, D'Onofrio gained renewed prominence as Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, beginning with Daredevil. His version of Fisk emphasized vulnerability, rage, intelligence, and terrifying control, making the character one of the most acclaimed villains in Marvel television. He reprised the role in later Marvel projects including Hawkeye, Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again. His later film appearances include Jurassic World, The Magnificent Seven, The Judge, Run All Night, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Lift, and The Unforgivable. Across more than four decades, D'Onofrio has built a career around transformation, presence, and a willingness to make even genre roles feel strange and human.
