Lacey Nicole Chabert is an American actress whose career began in childhood and grew across network drama, studio comedy, animation, video games, and a long association with Hallmark television films. Born on September 30, 1982, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and raised in Purvis, she started performing as a child and worked in commercials and stage roles before becoming familiar to television audiences. Her early soap-opera work included playing Bianca Montgomery on All My Children, a role that introduced her to daytime viewers while she was still very young.
Chabert's breakthrough came as Claudia Salinger on Party of Five, the Fox drama about siblings raising one another after the death of their parents. She played Claudia from 1994 to 2000, growing up on screen as part of an ensemble that also included Scott Wolf, Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The role made her one of the more recognizable young actors of 1990s television and gave her a dramatic foundation before she moved more fully into film and voice work.
In film, Chabert appeared in Lost in Space, Not Another Teen Movie, Daddy Day Care, and other studio projects, but her most widely quoted live-action movie role remains Gretchen Wieners in Mean Girls. The 2004 comedy became a durable pop-culture title, and Gretchen's lines, status anxiety, and friendship with Regina George helped make the character one of Chabert's signature parts. She later appeared in horror, family, holiday, and romantic projects, building a filmography that mixed mainstream theatrical releases with television movies.

Chabert has also had an extensive voice-acting career. She voiced Eliza Thornberry on Nickelodeon's The Wild Thornberrys and in related feature films, creating one of the central characters in a major animated children's franchise. She voiced Meg Griffin during the first season of Family Guy and has contributed to DC-related animation as Zatanna, Star Wars: The Old Republic as Mako, and other animated or game projects. This voice work is a major part of her professional identity and distinguishes her from actors known only for live-action roles.
From the 2010s onward, Chabert became strongly identified with Hallmark Channel and Hallmark-style romance, mystery, and holiday films. Public Hallmark listings show her continuing relationship with the network through numerous original movies and series-linked projects, and she has often been described as one of Hallmark's most recognizable stars. Titles across that period include Christmas films, romantic comedies, mystery stories, and celebration-themed programming. Her career has been unusually continuous: child actor, teen drama regular, animated lead, comedy-film standout, voice performer, and dependable television-movie headliner.
