Elizabeth Banks

Banks reached a new level of global recognition as Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games film series. With elaborate costumes, precise comic timing and a controlled sense of artificial cheer, she made Effie both satirical and gradually sympathetic. Around the same period she became associated with the Pitch Perfect franchise, playing commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden and helping guide the series as a producer. Her feature directing debut, Pitch Perfect 2, opened strongly at the box office and was widely noted as a major commercial success for a first-time feature director.
