Mao Ichimichi

Mao Ichimichi is a Japanese actress and voice actress who is widely credited under the voice-acting name M・A・O. Born in Osaka on February 1, 1992, she began her public entertainment career in idol and gravure work before becoming closely associated with tokusatsu and anime. Her career illustrates a common but demanding path in Japanese popular entertainment: live-action television visibility first, followed by a large and sustained voice-acting filmography.

Ichimichi's major live-action breakthrough came in Super Sentai. In Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, she played Luka Millfy, also known as Gokai Yellow, one of the central members of the pirate-themed hero team. The role placed her in a long-running Japanese franchise with a devoted fan base and led to later returns in related Super Sentai films and anniversary projects. She also continued to appear in other tokusatsu-related work, including voice roles in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger and later franchise appearances.

As a voice actress, Ichimichi adopted the name M・A・O and developed a very large anime résumé. Her credits include roles across action, comedy, fantasy, slice-of-life and game-adaptation series. Public databases and anime listings credit her in series such as Samurai Flamenco, Durarara!!x2, School-Live!, Space Patrol Luluco, Flip Flappers, Classroom of the Elite, Cells at Work!, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Fire Force and many others. She has also voiced characters in games and media-mix projects, reflecting the interconnected nature of Japanese anime, game and character franchises.
