Haruka Tomatsu

Haruka Tomatsu is a Japanese voice actress, singer and performer associated with MusicRay'n and Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Born in Ichinomiya, Aichi, in 1990, she entered the entertainment business while still a teenager and built a career that spans anime, games, live-action drama, theme songs and concert performance. Her voice work is especially familiar to international anime audiences because several of her characters sit at the center of long-running or globally distributed franchises.

Tomatsu's professional path began through auditions connected to MusicRay'n and Sony Music Entertainment Japan. After early roles in television anime, she gained her first major starring part as Corticarte Apa Lagranges in Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica. In the late 2000s she became increasingly visible through roles such as Lala Satalin Deviluke in To Love-Ru, Nagi in Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens and Shiho Sannomiya in Zettai Karen Children. These parts showed the range that would become one of her trademarks: bright comedy, romantic lead work, fantasy heroines and emotionally direct youth characters.

Her best-known role internationally is Asuna Yuuki in Sword Art Online, beginning with the 2012 television anime and continuing through films, games and later installments. Asuna became one of the franchise's defining characters, and Tomatsu's performance balances the character's warmth, resolve and vulnerability. She has also voiced Naruko “Anaru” Anjo in Anohana, Morgiana in Magi, Haru Okumura in Persona 5, Zero Two in Darling in the Franxx, Kyoko Hori in Horimiya and recurring Yo-kai Watch characters including Keita Amano. Her film and television credits extend across major anime properties such as Violet Evergarden, Mononoke the Movie, Pretty Cure, Gundam, Overlord and Sound! Euphonium-related projects.
