Murali Sharma

The 2020 Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo became one of Sharma's most visible later credits. His role as Valmiki, a resentful and morally compromised father figure, gave him a central place in a major commercial success and brought further recognition, including Filmfare South and SIIMA supporting-actor honors. Around the same period he also appeared in Sarileru Neekevvaru, A1 Express, Sreekaram, Jathi Ratnalu, Chaavu Kaburu Challaga, HIT: The First Case, Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty and other Telugu projects. Across these roles, Sharma has often been used as a stabilizing dramatic presence: he can intensify a conflict, supply comic authority, or give emotional weight to family and institutional scenes without needing to be the lead.

Because he has worked in more than 130 feature films, Sharma's career is best understood less as a single-star trajectory than as that of a highly adaptable Indian screen professional. He moved from television to Hindi supporting roles, then to a major place in Telugu cinema, while also appearing in Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi and Kannada projects. His filmography shows the importance of multilingual character actors in Indian popular cinema: performers who connect industries, genres and star vehicles while creating recognisable audience trust through repeated, carefully shaped supporting work.
