Michael Paré

Paré also worked in television drama. From 1987 to 1988 he starred with Michael Beck in Houston Knights, a CBS police series built around the partnership of contrasting detectives. He later appeared in Starhunter, adding science-fiction television to a filmography already heavy with action and genre material. His television work helped keep him visible beyond his early film stardom.

After the 1980s, Paré continued to work steadily in film and television, often in independent, direct-to-video, action, thriller, and genre productions. He appeared in Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives!, Moon 44, Village of the Damned, Bad Moon, Hope Floats, and The Virgin Suicides, among many other credits. In later years he became known for an exceptionally prolific workload in low-budget and independent films, including frequent collaborations in action, horror, and thriller projects.

Paré's career is sometimes discussed in relation to typecasting. His early roles leaned on a rugged, macho, romantic persona, and interviews have reflected his awareness that such casting could be both an opportunity and a limitation. Even so, the longevity of his career is striking. Rather than disappearing after his 1980s cult fame, he remained active across decades, accumulating a large number of credits and maintaining an audience among fans of genre cinema.

His legacy is therefore twofold. For many viewers, he remains inseparable from Eddie Wilson and Tom Cody, two 1980s cult-film figures built from music, attitude, and mystery. For others, he is a working actor with a vast filmography who moved from network television and studio-backed genre films into the independent production world. That combination of cult-icon status and continuing productivity has kept Paré a familiar name in film databases and genre-film circles.
