DiMaggio has also had a substantial presence in action animation. He voiced Dr. Drakken in Kim Possible, The Scotsman in Samurai Jack, Brother Blood in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!, Aquaman in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and many characters across Marvel, DC and Cartoon Network productions. His voice often carries comic force, but he can also play command, threat and bravado without losing rhythm. That versatility has made him a frequent choice for characters who need to register immediately in ensemble animation.

Video games form another major part of his career. DiMaggio voiced Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War series, giving one of modern gaming's central action heroes a gruff, grounded presence. He has also contributed to franchises including Final Fantasy, Halo, Kingdom Hearts and others. Game voice acting requires a different set of demands from television animation, with battle lines, exertions, branching dialogue and cinematic scenes all needing consistency. Disenchantment gave him another major series role as King Zøg, while his recurring work across shows such as Ben 10, American Dragon: Jake Long, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Pound Puppies and Middlemost Post shows how often animation producers have used his range. He can make a character sound enormous, foolish, dangerous, tender or ridiculous, often within the same episode.

DiMaggio's importance comes from the way he helps define characters through texture. Bender's metallic rasp, Jake's relaxed warmth, Marcus Fenix's battlefield growl and Dr. Drakken's comic panic are all immediately identifiable, but they are not the same voice repeated with small changes. They show an actor who understands how rhythm, breath and attitude create character. In an era when animation and games have become central popular forms, DiMaggio stands as one of the working performers whose craft has shaped the sound of that culture.
