Scott Porter

Matthew Scott Porter is an American actor and occasional singer best known for television roles that connect teen drama, comedy-drama and streaming ensemble work. Born on July 14, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska, he grew up in Winter Park, Florida, attended Lake Howell High School and later studied at the University of Central Florida. His athletic background became a useful context for his breakthrough screen role as Jason Street on NBC's Friday Night Lights, a high-school football player whose life changes after a spinal-cord injury in the pilot episode.

Porter broadened his profile with film and television parts across comedy, romance and drama. His film credits include Music and Lyrics, Speed Racer, Bandslam, Dear John, 10 Years, The To Do List and Prom Night; in Bandslam, he also performed the song "Pretend" for the soundtrack. On television, he played law-firm investigator Blake Calamar on The Good Wife and became widely associated with George Tucker on Hart of Dixie. Later work includes Mayor Paul Randolph on Ginny & Georgia and appearances in series such as Scorpion.
