Lam Suet

Lam's screen presence is distinctive. He has often been cast as a secondary figure, sidekick, underworld subordinate, comic foil, or ordinary man caught in criminal machinery. Yet the apparent modesty of those parts is exactly where his value lies. Hong Kong genre cinema often depends on instantly legible supporting characters who can shift the mood of a scene without slowing the story. Lam is able to do that with posture, timing, and a matter-of-fact delivery that makes even brief appearances memorable.
