Ryota Osaka, often romanized as Ryōta Ōsaka, is a Japanese voice actor known for leading roles in anime, games, and related media. He was born on 2 August 1986 in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, and is represented by the talent agency Early Wing. Since beginning professional work around 2010, he has become especially associated with youthful protagonists, sports-anime leads, fantasy heroes, and emotionally direct supporting characters.
Osaka's breakthrough came through major television anime roles in the early 2010s. He voiced Eijun Sawamura, the energetic pitcher at the center of Ace of Diamond, and Sadao Maou in The Devil Is a Part-Timer!, a comic fantasy series built around a demon king adapting to everyday life in modern Tokyo. These parts showed two sides of his range: high-energy competitive performance and deadpan comic timing.
He continued to build a broad résumé across school drama, romance, action, and fantasy. His credits include Nagate Tanikaze in Knights of Sidonia, Zen Wistaria in Snow White with the Red Hair, Marco Bodt in Attack on Titan, Ikki Kurogane in Chivalry of a Failed Knight, Ryū Yamada in Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Nariyuki Yuiga in We Never Learn, Keiji Akaashi in Haikyu!!, and Asahi Kashiwagi in Love Flops. He has also appeared in large franchise titles such as Black Clover, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tokyo Revengers, and Genshin Impact, where his voice work reached audiences beyond television anime.
Osaka's screen presence is primarily vocal, so his public profile is built on character consistency rather than physical celebrity. In sports and adventure roles he often brings momentum and open feeling; in romantic or comic settings he can shift toward gentler awkwardness. That flexibility has made him a frequent choice for ensemble anime built around young casts and emotionally heightened conflicts.

Outside individual roles, Osaka represents the generation of Japanese voice actors who came to prominence as anime became increasingly global through streaming, games, convention culture, and subtitled simulcasts. His best-known characters circulate internationally, while his agency work remains rooted in the Japanese voice-acting industry.
His work is also notable for how often he anchors ensemble stories rather than simply appearing around them. Ace of Diamond depends on Sawamura's stubborn optimism and noisy growth, while The Devil Is a Part-Timer! depends on the comic contradiction between demonic grandeur and ordinary part-time labor. In Snow White with the Red Hair, his performance as Zen supports a more restrained romantic-adventure tone, and in Knights of Sidonia he fits a darker science-fiction world. Those contrasts show why Osaka is used across very different anime registers.
Because Japanese voice actors frequently work across television, theatrical animation, games, CDs, and live promotional events, Osaka's career is broader than a list of screen titles suggests. He is part of a professional ecosystem where character performance, fan events, radio appearances, and franchise continuity all matter. His best-known roles have remained active through sequels, game appearances, international streaming, and fan communities, giving his voice a steady presence across contemporary anime culture.
