Tom Berry is a Canadian film and television producer, screenwriter, director, and entertainment entrepreneur. He is best known for building companies that specialize in international television movies and for producing or executive-producing a large slate of genre films, thrillers, romances, holiday films, and television features. Public sources identify him with Allegro Films, Reel One Entertainment, Champlain Media, and later Studio TF1 America, placing him among the Canadian producers whose careers link independent film production with high-volume global television distribution.
Berry began working in film in the 1980s as a writer, director, and producer. His early credits include the 1987 feature Crazy Moon, on which he was producer and writer, and the 1988 National Film Board of Canada/Allegro Films production Something About Love, which he directed and wrote. Encyclopedia.com lists directing credits including Blind Fear, The Amityville Curse, and Twin Sisters, and production credits including Mindfield, The Paper Boy, Screamers, The Assignment, Never Too Late, The Unsaid, and You Stupid Man. Variety's executive database similarly lists Berry as producer on The Assignment and The Unsaid and as producer-writer on Crazy Moon.
In 1985, Berry co-founded Allegro Films. Public summaries describe Allegro as a significant Canadian entertainment company active in production, distribution, and technical services before it was acquired by Groupe Québecor in 1997. After that period, Berry moved deeper into television-film financing and distribution. Reel One Entertainment, also associated with the name Première Bobine, became the company most closely tied to his later reputation: it focused on commercial television films for international markets, especially thrillers, romance films, Christmas movies, and other scripted TV-movie formats.

Reel One's later corporate history connects Berry's work to a larger international television supply chain. Studio TF1 America, which incorporates the Reel One label, describes itself as one of the most prolific independent distributors of scripted programming for U.S. and international markets, with slates of Christmas movies, crime thrillers, and romance movies. The company states that Reel One Entertainment is now a label within Studio TF1 America for TV-movie audiences. This context explains the unusually large number of Berry's executive-producer credits in television movies: many are part of a business model built around steady production, repeatable genres, and worldwide licensing.
Berry's credits span both theatrical and television work. In theatrical film, he is associated with Canadian and international genre titles such as Crazy Moon, Screamers, The Assignment, The Unsaid, Dear Mr. Gacy, and Embrace of the Vampire. In television, he has executive-producer credits on numerous Lifetime, Syfy, and cable-style thrillers and romance films, with Variety and TMDb listing many titles from the 2000s through the 2020s. His career is therefore less defined by a single auteur signature than by production infrastructure: developing companies, financing packages, distribution routes, and a high-output catalog of commercial screen entertainment.
