Zhao Lusi, also known internationally as Rosy Zhao, is a Chinese actress and singer who became one of the most visible young stars of Chinese streaming drama in the late 2010s and early 2020s. She was born in Chengdu, Sichuan, on 9 November 1998 and entered entertainment through variety programming, including work connected with Mars Intelligence Agency. Her screen career developed quickly through web dramas, a format that helped many young Chinese performers build large online audiences.
Zhao made her acting debut in 2017 with a supporting role in Cinderella Chef and also appeared in the film City of Rock. In 2018 she drew wider attention with Untouchable Lovers and took her first leading role in the historical fantasy romance Oh! My Emperor. That series helped establish the light comic style, expressive timing, and romantic-drama appeal that would become central to her early image. She received newcomer recognition at the Golden Bud Network Film and Television Festival, signaling her emergence among web-drama actors.
Her profile rose further in 2020 with The Romance of Tiger and Rose. The series, built around a screenwriter transported into her own historical romance script, became a popular online hit and made Zhao more widely recognizable to international drama viewers. She followed with Dating in the Kitchen and continued to alternate between costume romance, fantasy, and contemporary stories. In 2021 she appeared in The Long Ballad and won the Asian Star Prize at the Seoul International Drama Awards, then led Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling and A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College.

The year 2022 marked another step in her career. Zhao starred opposite Yang Yang in Who Rules the World and opposite Wu Lei in Love Like the Galaxy, two high-profile costume dramas that expanded her audience beyond lighter romantic comedy. Love Like the Galaxy in particular became one of her signature works, pairing palace intrigue, family conflict, and romance with a role that required more emotional range. In 2023 she starred in Hidden Love, a contemporary romance that became a major hit among younger viewers and increased her international streaming visibility.
By the mid-2020s Zhao had added series such as Gen Z, The Last Immortal, The Story of Pearl Girl, and Love's Ambition to her résumé. She also became active in fashion and brand work; Versace named her a global brand ambassador in 2023, reflecting her growing profile outside acting. Zhao's career is closely tied to the rise of Chinese online drama as a regional and international export. Her appeal rests on a combination of approachable screen presence, comedic ease, romantic-drama chemistry, and a steady flow of leading roles across costume and modern series.
