A useful but uneven turn from Rila Fukushima
7.5/10 · Acting
What stood out to me about Listen to the Universe (2019) was how Rila Fukushima handled the role. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. It is not the whole reason to watch the film, but it meaningfully improves the experience.
