Daniela Mercury has good moments, though not fully even
4.5/10 · Acting
What stood out to me about É d'Oxum: a Força que Mora N'água (2023) was how Daniela Mercury handled the role. There is some texture here, but I wanted a little more surprise. I appreciated the intention more than every individual moment. It supports the film well enough, though it rarely changes the temperature of a scene. The performance has a clear idea behind it, but the execution is not equally strong throughout. A few scenes feel specific and grounded, while others fall back on familiar choices. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
