J.D. Evermore is the reason this lands

There is something pretty interesting about how J.D. Evermore fits into To the Stars (2019). I bought the character pretty quickly, which is not always easy in this kind of film. A couple of tiny timing choices really stuck with me. There is a nice lived-in quality to it, nothing too forced. The small reactions do a lot of the heavy lifting. That is the part I kept thinking about after the movie ended.
