Jorge Macaya feels too thin here
1/10 · Editing
What stood out to me about I Dream in Another Language (2017) was how Jorge Macaya handled the role. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. Different viewers may value it more, but for me the effect was limited.
