Caleb Hatton feels too thin here

Looking just at Caleb Hatton's work as Director, there is a clear point of view in the performance. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
