A useful but uneven turn from James Andrew Haven
7.5/10 · Directing
James Andrew Haven's contribution as Second Assistant Director gives Sacrifice (2026) a more specific texture. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
