Shinji Mikami never quite convinces

Shinji Mikami's contribution as Original Story gives Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) a more specific texture. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
