Strong, thoughtful work from Liana Liberato
10/10 · Acting
What stood out to me about The Best of Me (2014) was how Liana Liberato handled the role. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
