A useful but uneven turn from Simon Frenay
4.5/10 · Acting
What stood out to me about The Trial of Klara Wendel (2018) was how Simon Frenay handled the role. It supports the film well enough, though it rarely changes the temperature of a scene. There is some texture here, but I wanted a little more surprise. The performance has a clear idea behind it, but the execution is not equally strong throughout. I appreciated the intention more than every individual moment. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
