Patton Oswalt has good moments, though not fully even

Looking just at Patton Oswalt's work as Self, there is a clear point of view in the performance. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. Different viewers may value it more, but for me the effect was limited.
