Mae M. never quite convinces

I kept coming back to Mae M.'s choices here, especially in the smaller beats. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
