Geoffrey Martin works in parts
4.5/10 · Directing
What stood out to me about Animal Farm (1954) was how Geoffrey Martin handled the role. The performance has a clear idea behind it, but the execution is not equally strong throughout. There is some texture here, but I wanted a little more surprise. I appreciated the intention more than every individual moment. A few scenes feel specific and grounded, while others fall back on familiar choices. It supports the film well enough, though it rarely changes the temperature of a scene. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
