Robert Elswit works in parts
7/10 · Camera
What stood out to me about Michael Clayton (2007) was how Robert Elswit handled the role. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
