Strong, thoughtful work from Masafumi Yokota

I kept coming back to Masafumi Yokota's choices here, especially in the smaller beats. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. It is not the whole reason to watch the film, but it meaningfully improves the experience.
