A useful but uneven turn from Barbara Desiante

What stood out to me about Jailbird (2023) was how Barbara Desiante handled the role. The performance has a clear idea behind it, but the execution is not equally strong throughout. I appreciated the intention more than every individual moment. A few scenes feel specific and grounded, while others fall back on familiar choices. It supports the film well enough, though it rarely changes the temperature of a scene. Different viewers may value it more, but for me the effect was limited.
