Ed Wynn never quite convinces
2.5/10 · Acting
What stood out to me about Alice in Wonderland (1951) was how Ed Wynn handled the role. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
