Ana Lily Amirpour has good moments, though not fully even

Ana Lily Amirpour's contribution as Self gives No Mercy (2026) a more specific texture. I appreciated the intention more than every individual moment. The performance has a clear idea behind it, but the execution is not equally strong throughout. A few scenes feel specific and grounded, while others fall back on familiar choices. There is some texture here, but I wanted a little more surprise. Different viewers may value it more, but for me the effect was limited.
