Forest Whitaker is okay but not always strong

Forest Whitaker as Big Harold in Platoon (1986) made me pay attention more than I expected. Some parts are good, but other parts feel normal and not very fresh. The performance is okay for the movie, but sometimes it feels a little flat. There are good moments, especially when the scene is quiet. I wanted more detail, but it still has some useful emotion. I can understand what the actor wants to do, but not every scene is strong. This is only my personal view, but the performance changed how I enjoyed the film.
