Good instincts from Walter Hill, mixed result

I came away thinking about Walter Hill's work as Actor more than I expected. The quieter stuff works better than the bigger beats. I would not call it bad, just not as sharp as it could have been. I like the idea of the performance more than the full result. It is solid enough, but there are moments where it feels a bit on autopilot. Some scenes click, some just sit there. That is the part I kept thinking about after the movie ended.
