A useful but uneven turn from Julien Pestel
7/10 · Acting
Looking just at Julien Pestel's work as François Martin, there is a clear point of view in the performance. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. What works best is the balance between restraint and clear emotional intention. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
