Sid Caesar never quite convinces
3/10 · Acting
Sid Caesar's contribution as Melville Crump gives It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) a more specific texture. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. It is not a careless performance, but it feels under-shaped. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
