A useful but uneven turn from Sho Tsukikawa
6.5/10 · Directing
What stood out to me about And Life Goes On (2019) was how Sho Tsukikawa handled the role. The performance has a clear idea behind it, but the execution is not equally strong throughout. A few scenes feel specific and grounded, while others fall back on familiar choices. I appreciated the intention more than every individual moment. It supports the film well enough, though it rarely changes the temperature of a scene. My reaction is mainly about this specific film, not a judgement on the performer overall.
