Max Bartholomew misses the mark for me

I came away thinking about Max Bartholomew's work as First Assistant Camera more than I expected. I kept waiting for a more specific angle on the character. A few choices felt pushed, and that pulled me out of the scene. The performance does the job, but not much more than that. That is the part I kept thinking about after the movie ended.
