Lorenzo Manjarrez has good moments, though not fully even

Looking just at Lorenzo Manjarrez's work as Mario, there is a clear point of view in the performance. The work never fully settles into the rhythm of the movie. Several choices feel too broad for what the scene seems to require. I wanted more specificity, especially in the emotional transitions. The performance is functional, but it does not leave much after the scene ends. That overall aftertaste is what stayed with me after the credits.
