What stood out to me about 1989 (2019) was how Aleksandra Szymczak handled the role. The choices are controlled without feeling mechanical, which makes the character easy to trust. It adds value without trying too hard to dominate the film. Even in crowded scenes, the performance keeps a clean line through the story. There is enough texture in the quieter beats to make the role feel lived in. It is not the whole reason to watch the film, but it meaningfully improves the experience.
